V1 connectivity rules experimental figures and results

Collected here are the data, figures and results obtained from silicon probe recordings of V1 and dLGN in mice performed in the vision circuits lab for the article In vivo extracellular recordings of thalamic and cortical visual responses reveal V1 connectivity rules. The code and analyses have been done by Simon Renner, co-first author on the paper, mainly supervised by Laura Busse, in collaboration with Tatjana Tchumatchenko and Nataliya Kraynyukova.

Files

The figure and results files rely on the data files in the data folder. Without the data folder, the figures cannot be generated.

Results.py computes all quantified results presented in the article.

All files with the Fig_ prefix generate figures. File names match the labels in the article. To generate a figure or display results, open an ipython prompt and enter run <filename>. Make sure you have all the necessary packages installed, as listed in requirements.txt.

The remaining files provide utility functions for figure generation and results computation.

Note: code in fetch_data.py was used to generate the data files that Results.py needs as inputs, starting from spike times of sorted units and the stimulus information. To run, it needs a working connection to the vision circuits lab database.
