Scheduled service maintenance on November 22

On Friday, November 22, 2024, between 06:00 CET and 18:00 CET, GIN services will undergo planned maintenance. Extended service interruptions should be expected. We will try to keep downtimes to a minimum, but recommend that users avoid critical tasks, large data uploads, or DOI requests during this time.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

README.md

C57Bl6

Local field potentials recorded from the visual and auditory cortices of male and female mice. This data was collected as a standard for future studies (folders: 4h, Aud and VEP) with wildtype littermates who tend to not be particularly normal. Additionally, it contains data from a pilot intervention study with the GABA-b agonist arbaclofen (R(+)-baclofen).

Electrode configuration

Electrodes implanted bilaterally over visual (AP -4, ML +- 2.5) (ch 3 & 14) and auditory cortices (AP -2.5, ML +- 3.5) (ch 4 & 12) and unilaterally over PFC (AP 2.58 ML -1.57) (ch13). Two EMGs in neck muscles (ch 8 & 11) and reference over the cerebellum.

Animals

nineteen C57Bl/6J mice, of two months of age at the beginning of the study and five months at the end.

  • males: 69053, 69054, 69055, 69056, 69021, 69019, 69022, 69070, 69069
  • females: 69065, 69064e, 69025, 69026, 69075, 69027, 69073, 69074, 69067, 69066

Paradigms

  • 4 hours (folder: 4_h): four hour recordings of spontaneous activity.
  • auditory battery (folder: Aud), 10 kHz tone at a 65 dB: auditory event-related potential, gating (0.1 s, 0.2 s, 0.3 s, 0.4 s, 0.5 s, 0.75 s, 1 s)
  • vision (folder: VEP), all light flashes were 10 ms in duration: intensity - four different lux 13.4 lux, 18.4 lux, 36.6 lux, 87.9 lux, contrast - bagground of 13.4 lux, same intensities as for 'intensity' (folder: contrast), visual battery (folder: battery): single VEP, gating (0.1 s, 0.2 s, 0.3 s, 0.4 s, 0.5 s, 0.05 s and 0.15 s), steady-state (10 Hz, 20 Hz and 40 Hz), Chirp (10-40 Hz over 5.5 seconds).

Data files

The recordings were made in TainiLive. The recording files are of the .edf+ type, meta data is provided as .yaml files and screenshots of the recording logs are available containing the exact transmitter frequency of each recording. The recording system was wireless and the animals were freely-moving during recordings.

Recording specifications

  • online down-sampling from 19525 Hz to 1084.7 Hz
  • low-pass: 9700 Hz
  • high-pass:0.35 Hz

Arbaclofen study

Cross-over design with full visual and auditory batteries. Test of R(+)-baclofen CAS: 63701-55-3. The drug as first tested at the doses: 6 mg/kg, 3 mg/kg, 1 mg/kg and 0.5 mg/kg. Dissolved in saline and injected intraperitoneally just before recording.

Randomization

Sequency at first round of visual (19/7-22/7) and auditory (9/8-11/8), vice versa at cross-over: visual (25/7-29/7), auditory (16/8-18/8)

  • Drug: 69054, 69055, 69056, 69022, 69064, 69065, 69026, 69074, 69066
  • Vehicle: 69053, 69019, 69021, 69069, 69070, 69025, 69027, 69075, 69073, 69067
