### Well-Timed, Brief Inhibition Can Promote Spiking: Postinhibitory Facilitation

The paper shows that when inhibition is timed shortly before excitatory input, it can facilitate spiking. The underlying mechanism is by reduction of conductances that would inhibit a spike, in this case a standing potassium current.

Although related, this does not seem to be so relevant for our problem as it concerns inhibition that happens before excitatory input. We would rather like a reduced inhibitory effect, when inhibition happens shortly after the spike.
