Neuromagnetic activity was recorded in a magnetically shielded room using a whole-head biomagnetometer (CTF MEG, Coquitlam, Canada) with 275 first-order axial gradiometers and 27 reference sensors that enabled collection of synthetic third-order gradient data with improved signal-to-noise ratio. Coils at the nasion and 1 cm from the tragus, rostral to the left and right periauricular points in the direction of the nasion, were used to quantify head position relative to the sensor array.

The structural MRI scan was acquired on a 1.5 T GE Signa scanner using an MP-RAGE (multiplanar rapidly acquired gradient echo) imaging sequence with the following parameters: repetition time (TR), 7.87 s; echo time (TE), 2.69 ms; flip angle, 8 degrees; slices, 200; field of view, 256 mm; resolution, 1 x 1 x 1.2 mm.

The data is stored in BIDS format using the CTF *.ds filetype. It can be opened in either proprietary CTF software (Omega 2000) or open-source M/EEG software packages (NUTMEG, fieldtrip). The Fieldtrip website expands a bit on the file format here : https://www.fieldtriptoolbox.org/getting_started/ctf/
